Also, OEL is a Dman, but he also brings offense. He was on pace for his 7th straight season of 40 or more points. He was also on pace to score double digit goals for the 8th time out of his 10 year career. The Flames D does not bring enough offense to the table, especially with Gio starting to possibly slow down on that front.

OEL brings even less offense to the table than Hanifin. The only difference between their totals is that OEL plays PP.
5 on 5 totals for OEL:
2018-2019: 81 games 5 goals 13 assists
2019-2020: 66 games 5 goals 17 assists
5 on 5 totals for Hanifin:
2018-2019: 80 games 5 goals 26 assists
2019-2020: 70 games 5 goals 17 assists
Only difference is Hanifin is 3.35 million dollars cheaper, 6 years younger, and on the upswing instead of the downswing.
