I don’t understand why New Jersey would trade for Gaudreau.
By the time they are ready to compete Gaudreau is a UFA. They need to keep the powder dry for two more years before they open the window. They should be taking bad money and stocking up on picks and prospects for the next 2 seasons.
The opposite reason makes Calgary not too interested pursuing Nersey. Calgary is looking to get better next year. I don’t see the impact pieces available. They become interesting if we blow it up.
