OEL was supposed to be one of the best offensive D-men. At one point where he was putting up 50+ points. However, with the way the game has opened up and OEL's number falling slightly, his offensive numbers are just not that impressive. OEL is putting up 40ish points a season, which is almost the norm for a #2-3 d-man.
OEL has become an overpriced just okay #2-3 guy.
If the Flames are throwing that kind of cash around, I'd rather see them bring in a legit first line forward, Ex. Hall.
