Because money talks. We can probably offer sheet Barzal for 5 years and 10.5m. Even if we don't win that bid we can still offer sheet Pulock, who would be a great fit on the Flames playing with Giordano or Valimaki as his partner. Could also acquire Leddy for super cheap so the Isles could sign Pulock. Leddy is still a top 4 d-man.
The Isles and Lightning are in trouble this off season, this is the time the Flames need to take advantage of that, or else some other team in the Western conference is going to do it.
