So what does Montoyo do? He decides to give him the day off - gotta cool that man down!
The Jays have 2 days off in the next 7 days, so giving guys the day off is pretty pointless. But your hottest hitter? Just unfathomable.
Montoyo doing Montoyo things.
But this team don't care, they just keep finding new and amazing ways to win ballgames! Funnest team in a long time.

Except in a key moment he has him pinch hit. Panik has a great at bat and draws a walk, which effectively put another run on the board for Jansen's homer along with putting even more pressure on the pitcher with the bases loaded. Panik replaced Espinal who was the guy that drew the lead off walk to start the inning. So even though Espinal did good things, Montoyo knew enough to put Panik in for a key at bat.
Everything worked out okay. It's not like Montoyo is entirely clueless out there. He seems to know the game well but makes a questionable decision now and then. That's par for the course with every single manager. Damned if they do...
