Super late to the game, but with all the Nolan talk I decided to check out The Prestige last night. I was a little disappointed. With all the hype I thought there would be another layer to it or something.
Spoiler!
The two twists were loudly telegraphed a little too much. The heavy prosthetics on Bale's ingénieur and all the discussions on what are you today gave that one away. As soon as you saw the pile of hats you knew Jackman was going to kill his clone. Also, I was a little disappointed on how Tesla invented a magic duplicator. I was hoping for some kind of intelligent trick that never came. Nope, it was magic. I also don't like how Tesla is becoming this mythical figure in pop culture. The guy was a really smart engineer who had a real intuition for understanding how electricity worked and its potential, but he wasn't magical.
