I do wish there was more flexibility with the expansion rules than just the two options (7-3-1 or 8-1). I.e., in addition to those two, how about 6-2-2, or 3-5-2, for teams that want to cover two goalies - you're then giving up either your third best d-man or fourth best forward. It would just create a bit more variety in the types of players available to be drafted, while creating more potential for trades to be made to fit those molds.
