To suggest that we knew when he was drafted that he'd get to a point of "borderline best player in the NHL" is 20 20 hindsight.

I remember during their first few seasons, it looked like Monahan had decent (but still unlikely) shot at becoming the better player of the two, which seems like a fever dream in retrospect.
