Plenty of teams in the playoffs have played teams 20+ points behind them. Going by arbitrary seeding numbers doesn’t tell anything about the quality of the teams involved. Does that mean a 4th seed playing a 5th seed should have their points count more than a 1st playing an 8th?

It matters 100% to me because without covid the Yotes aren't in the playoffs and round robin games counting as playoff stats is ridiculous
Its no mystery why so many records are being broken/close to broken lately
These playoffs are like comparing apples and oranges. Nathan MacKinnon is having an amazing playoffs I'm not debating that but if we are going there McDavid had 9 playoff points without making the playoffs
