Regardless, MacKinnon is a powerhouse. He is an extremely impressive player. I suspect that if the Avs make it to the finals his stats will be among the best of best even with consideration given to the unusual circumstances this year.
Playing an 11 seed also doesn't matter to me, because that 11 seed outplayed a sixth seed to get in, after which their previous 11th place ranking doesn't mean much anymore.

they showed a graphic that Makar and Hughes are both close to the playoff scoring record for rookie defensemen. the record is 16, Makar now has 15 and Hughes has 14. But Hughes had 6 points in the play-in round, so really, he only has 8. Big difference.
Makar had 1 pt in the round robin BTW.
