I agree with the play-in/round robin stats needing an asterisk. The cup winner won't, because they will still have gone through a full playoffs against the best in the league, but the player stats counting the play-in round seems wrong to me because it is all extra and separated from the regular playoffs.
Regardless, MacKinnon is a powerhouse. He is an extremely impressive player. I suspect that if the Avs make it to the finals his stats will be among the best of best even with consideration given to the unusual circumstances this year.
Playing an 11 seed also doesn't matter to me, because that 11 seed outplayed a sixth seed to get in, after which their previous 11th place ranking doesn't mean much anymore.
