I don't think it can be overstated how important (and easy) it is to avoid people tailgating you while you pass by simply making sure it's safe to pass (i.e. looking in your mirrors).

At 110kmph, you should be keeping 2 seconds between you and the car in front of you, or about 60m (calculated based on how long it takes you to pass the same point in the road). Let's say you decide to pass, and a vehicle is coming up at 130 behind you. They're moving at 6 meters by second faster than you.

If they reach you within 10 seconds, they were only just over 2 seconds (70m) (or "1" safe following distance) behind you, so you did not safely check your mirrors before passing. If they reach you within 20 seconds, they were only 4 seconds (or about 140m) behind you, and again, you did not safely check your mirrors before passing. If they were going faster, lets say 150kmph, they would have be within unsafe distances even faster, and you would see the difference pretty easily if you check your mirror. Even then, they would reach you in 20 seconds at 220m away, which is not that large of a distance on the highway.

So, basically, I think basic math says that if someone comes up on your while you're passing another car, it's probably 100% your fault.
