Trading Gaudreau and taking back bad money just handcuffs the organization more. What you are suggesting is tearing the team down to the studs if you are willing to take back boat anchors in return for our stars. Will this squeeze and extra 1st or 2nd for a team that looks poised to be drafting in the 20’s for the next 2-3 years?
This team may trade Johnny for a futures based package but they won’t take on 3 years of overpaid bad money. Frost, Farabee, and the 25th pick are not worth taking on 3 more years of JVR at $7M.
