I agree I think Konecny is a great player but will not be as good as Johnny has been. I would like the Flyers to add to that deal but you would have a legion of Flyers fans that wouldn’t want to do the trade straight up.
$1.25M in cap savings and 3 additional years of team control. One player is 23 with 3 straight years of 24 goals and career high of 61pts this year. The other is a 27 year old with a career low 58pts coming off a career high 99.
One for one is a risky deal for both sides but if the Flames think Konecny is still ascending then it makes sense. If Flyers really want their hometown star player the deal makes sense for them as well.
Johnny had 7pts in 10 playoff games this year and has 19pts in 30 career games.
Konecny has 4pts (0 goals) in 13 games this year and 5pts in 19 career playoff games.
