The return on Johnny has to be drastically good. He's given a vote of confidence to the team that he wants to stay there so they aren't forced to deal him...yet. The Flames will set a price in their minds and teams will have to meet that price or there won't be a trade. If the sharks offer that, BT says no thank you and that's it.

It really is going to be a sellers market for Gaudreau. The Flames aren't in a spot where they have to trade him. He's still under contract for 2 seasons and if they so choose, they can trade him next summer or at the deadline of his expiring deal. The big thing to remember is there will be more than one team interested. That's huge. There will be a bidding war where BT can take the highest bid and when the auction is over, if he's not happy he can just keep him.
