I'm late to the party on the Habs thing. I think that everyone knows what Domi is as a player, and that's an average second line centre who plays a gritty style that causes trouble for the opposing team. Nothing wrong with that. He is available because he has been pushed to wing in Montreal, where he is not as effective. In that way he is very much like Sam Bennett.
The only way that a Domi trade makes sense is if the Flames are serious about trading Monahan. Centre depth of Backlund, Domi, Bennett, Ryan would be unique in the league for being extraordinarily difficult to play against.
No interest in Poehling.
Domi, 16th, 61st, and Noah Juulsen, sign me up.
