Schneider's allure is that he's a big, mobile guy who likes to play a physical game-he's displayed good puck movement, good outlet pass, and good IQ. His offensive numbers don't necessarily tell the whole story, as he has potential in this area. Needs to work on his shot, but plays a good defensive game.

The bad part? In the 2010 draft, for example, Gudbranson and McIllrath were taken ahead of Cam Fowler. A few spots later, Gormley and Forbort went in the first round. All were big, physical D-men with respectable stats and skill. I don't think we need to worry about the Flames taking a D-man in the first round this year, but the team that takes a guy like Schneider will hope his skating and IQ is the difference. I think he'll be a capable, 2-way guy in the NHL.
