Korpisalo has one stretch of 9 games dating back to 2016 where he's proven he's anything above replacement level, and there's nothing in the underlying numbers that show he's any sort of hidden gem (unlike Bennett).
2019/2020: -0.375% save above expected
2018/2019: -0.898% save above expected
2017/2018: -0.997% save above expected
2016/2017: 0.102% save above expected
2015/2016: 0.347% save above expected
15/16 he was very good and I remember being excited about him back then. Everything about that rookie year for him was promising. Since then? Not good/nothing special.
If we're talking goalies, Matt Murray also fell off a damn cliff this last season and is a redemption project at this stag as he was "just okay" the year before. He's really hurt since Fleury left.
For comparison, Rittich had a -0.313 this year while Talbot had a -0.379.
If we are targeting goalies who may be available and may "surprise" people, I really look at Anttii Raanta. With Kuemper taking that net, Raanta could potentially be available. He has had injury issues though.
