At this point, it's going to take more than moving one or two pieces and bringing in one or two pieces, which is how i defined 'retool'. This means still trying to move forward to try winning in the next couple of years.
Rebuilding suggests substantial changes which bring in younger less proven players (so not bringing in Hall, which is a retooling in order to win right away) where Calgary is going to drop in the standings the next few years and be a non playoff team.
At this point, there are some 'ledges' in the roster and it makes sense to me to tear it down to that bottom ledge, the Dubes, Tkachuks, Valimakis, Anderssons, Mangiapanes, Hanifins.
I'm pretty open to trading anyone at this point aside from Tkachuk, Vilimaki, Andersson and Dubes however.
