Bringing back Talbot on a favourable contract and spending the money elsewhere to overhaul the team makes sense to me. If Markstrom signs for $7M is that money worth it over Talbot at $3.5 or $4M?

Agreed.
Talbot stole Game 3 and gave the team a chance in 2, 4 and 5.
He shat the bed in Game 6, but Markstrom failed the Canucks in one of their games in the Wild series and the team in front of him bailed him out.
I have some worries about Talbot's age but I'm not sure there are many better options out there.
Markstrom will not sign here. Canucks have two young superstars, a beautiful City (important for the wife) and also one of the best goalie coaches in the game. There is no way he picks Calgary over Vancouver.
Lehner is interesting, but knowing Vegas, I bet they sign him long term.
Other than that, there isn't much else out there.
