The Flames have plenty of good young players, they just missed the boat and ended up with too many high end to elite wingers and not enough high end to elite centers.
Bennett not reaching draft expectations really set the rebuild back, might have even killed it. Also never getting a real good long term option at coach, a solid #1 goalie and our #1 dman being in his late 30's all contribute to the mess we're currently in as well.
