That kinda summed him up for me. Time to move on from Gaudreau. Kid allegedly cares but not in the right way, not through commitment, not as a professional, enough. He doesn’t want to be here, it’s obvious, let’s move on.

I’m not sure how anyone can tell other than Johnny himself. A lot of people get on Brodie’s case for allegedly looking like he doesn’t care, but I thought he was the Flames’ best defenseman this series along with Andersson.
For me, one play that spoke to me in this game was in second when he had the puck in the corner, drew 2 defenders with him, kicked it out to the open man Monahan. Monahan makes a pass to Giordano which is picked off by Perry, then Gaudreau races down to break up the Perry’s breakaway opportunity.
I think Gaudreau cares. I just think he has a hard time especially in games like this. He was the 104th pick overall for a reason. He has warts in his game, but he also does something no one else on this team does on a regular basis. Makes plays out of nothing, creates his own shot, draws defenders which opens up space for his linemates and etc. I truly believe he needs a play driving centerman to truly unlock his playoff potential. I think this team will miss him if and when he gets traded.
