I guess?? Depends on who’s out there. But I honestly haven’t been enamored with Treliving’s time here. He’s great at his job, works exceptionally hard and is phenomenal with contracts. But the most important thing about his role is talent evaluation and he hasn’t succeeded in this role IMO.
His fingerprints are all over of the team so criticism is absolutely fair. From the awful awful UFA signings that set this team back significantly to the hit and miss trades. I’m just not sure I trust the pro scouting of this organization.
I mean, if Treliving is tasked to make the biggest trades of his career, do we end up with more Lazar’s, more Hamonic’s, more Hanifin’s, more Stone’s, more Mike Smith’s? The assets wasted could’ve instead went to the most impressive thing about this organization which is their amateur scouting department lead by Tod Button.
