That’s BS and he’s trying to cover his own butt IMO.
He clearly made the emotional decision to pull Talbot since he thought it was a bad goal. Wasn’t some master plan to put him back in.
And even it that was the plan it was a stupid one, as the three soft goals on Rittich would indicate, or he should have told Talbot the plan before he went down the tunnel.
