Just thought I’d throw this out there. Chris Kooy, the first captain for FCE in 2011 in the NASL and longtime Calgary Callies player and captain has been fighting stage IV colon cancer. This past week they’ve stated he can no longer receive any treatment. FCE will be honouring him in their next match:

I played against Chris for many years. He is one of the best I’ve ever played against. Was a huge part of the Callies AMSL dynasty, winning multiple national titles. I was lucky enough to play with him for Calgary United for a couple seasons as well where I got to know him pretty well. He is an absolute class act, and this is sad to see. One of the best players ever from Calgary, and a really good person.
