Just seems like a terrible idea. Markstrom has had one very good year, in a contract year, in which he was injured to boot. Goalie performance is hard to predict. Try coming up with a list of UFA goalie signings on 5+ year deals since the last lockout and see how many of them you think ended up looking smart.
