What I saw in the first 19 minutes of the first period was the Flames getting run out of the rink. Stars were faster, harder on the puck, harder on the guys they hit, more motivated and even when the Flames scored and had a "decent" second period, they didn't stop. These guys simply do not have the jam of the 2004 team which went to the wall and through it for their coach and their fellow teammates. Not this crew at all.

Also, notwithstanding how erratically the Flames played, sometimes you just have to credit the other team. In this case, regardless of what the Flames did, or intended to do, or tried to do, the Stars simply played their game - and they did so hard and fast. Flames didn't play their own game and basically just gave up chasing it.

I didn't like the run-and-gun in the last game, thought that didn't favour the Flames but they came out of it well. Mostly. But where was the bang and crash they had in the first game? It seems like they won that game and figured they had the series done.
