I don’t think that’s fair. Gaudreau cares. He’s frustrated because he can’t do what he used to on the ice because of a combination of teams figuring out his game, losing a bit of quickness (he’s not 22 anymore), and having less time and space in playoff hockey.
What is on him, though, is an unwillingness to adapt his game. He strikes me as a very instinctive, stubborn player. And so far in his career he’s been able to get away with that attitude. No longer, though.
