Not to mention his well publicized lack of commitment off-ice.
Our 3rd line has been our best line by far, and Gaudreau has been a blackhole in almost every single game. Plus he blew his defensive coverage in the last minute of Game 2 for the winner. Just the complete opposite of a playoff performer.
He's a $6.75M PP specialist who is looking for a raise. But don't worry, he's "just unlucky".

IMO the GWG tonight perfectly sums up Gaudreau. It’s the playoffs. You gotta do everything you can to win. The fact that he didn’t even attempt to block that shot speaks volumes. I don’t care how good you are, in the Stanley Cup playoffs you have to do more. This isn’t the NCAA anymore Johnny.
I never want to accuse an NHL player of being content with losing. You don’t make the NHL that way. But Johnny just hasn’t figured out how to win in the NHL, and at 27 I’m seriously doubting he ever will.
He’s an electric player. I love the guy. But I love the Flames more and I think moving on from him is what’s best for the Flames.
