Johnny for futures are starting to make too much sense to me. (Especially if the Hall rumours end up being true).

New Jersey is a little disappointed in where their draft picks are landing, but if you get the later two picks from them (and the seeding remains the same as it is now) the Flames would pick 18-19-20. In this draft year, there are a tonne of quality players there. Right now mock drafts are expecting Lapierre-Zary-Amirov with possible dropping players of Holloway, Jarvis or Mercer.

Have Jersey throw in their choice of one or two expansion exempt players in Joe Anderson, Mike McLeod, Jesper Bratt, Janne Kuokkanen or Jesper Boqvist... and I'd be good to go.

As to the premise that Jersey is not in a competition window, I think that Hughes in his second year and Hirshier taking that step into young Bergeron territory, their window has been accelerated. They are also one of the best teams to sign a new contract for Johnny.
