I do wonder if those last 12 seconds go differently if Reider, Backlund, and Lindholm aren't as exhausted from having to kill so many penalties in the third.

Was thinking the same when watching.
Rinaldo has more jam, but isn't as good a hockey player, and certainly doesn't have a role or specialty on the team.
You can double shift Gaudreau, sit Jankowski five on five and have him kill penalties.
