It really boils down to compete level to me.
Bennett-Dube-Lucic are trying to win every puck battle, every shift, for the entire game. Every time there's a loose puck they're flying after it, every time there's a 50/50 they're lowering the shoulder and initiating contact. Bennett's like a pig in #### when he's battling in the corner and laying into guys, and that's why he's so effective.
The rest of the team is only sporadically engaged at that level, at best. Lindholm's unwillingness to engage physically and move his feet on the tying goal cost us big time. That slapper was a dumb play that could've been avoided, but when your guy's in the crease banging at a rebound you can't just stand off to the side and swing your stick and hope. You've gotta be in there, tying up his stick and pushing him out of the crease. Microcosm of what's gone wrong for us in the last two games.
