AppleTV has a lot of harder to find stuff, but all rentals are 6.99, even for crappy 80s fare, and that's highway robbery.
It's just like anything else in todays world, the freedom to choose is slowly being eroded in favour of what certain companies feel we should watch. Thinking of the weird nonsense that used to be available at the local video store just makes me feel like I'm a slowly boiling frog currently in an Orwellian nightmare.

This is where Plex fills the void. For anything not on streaming services you can either download a torrent (easy) or rip it yourself from DVD/Blu-Ray (slightly harder) and make your own streaming platform
