I see it in exactly the opposite way - that is, it makes far more sense to me that someone would be upset at having a personal statement like that made about them than it does for someone to feel they needed to make that statement in the first place.
I don't agree with WO403 that the video makes much of a difference in how I view the Floyd incident. But not only do I not feel the need to accuse him of enjoying it when black people die, saying something like that about someone on the basis of some fairly innocuous (if objectionable) views expressed on an internet forum just seems like a totally absurd thing to do. I don't want to dwell on it because Pepsi acknowledged it was over the line and apologized, but I just think you've got the issue totally backwards.
