Since 2001 as top 10 picks which includes 7 top 4 picks. They've had plenty of chances to screw up prospects and they have.
A team like Minnesota and Nashville deserve it imo, expansion teams of the last 20 years that have tried their hardest to win and not tank.
As much as I dislike Winnipeg, I'd be ok with them getting it to.
Toronto / Pittsburgh / Edmonton / Florida have had plenty of top picks in last 20 years.
NYR get all the UFAs and prospects they want.

Haven't drafted higher than 10 since Ekblad in 2014, but yeah, Florida, they're really the problem. It's been a while, and all teams go through a cycle of getting top picks. 2001 is a long way to go back. A lot of the guys before Huberdeau are either out of the league or on their way out. The team would have turned the entire roster over from then even if they turned into a great team. Other teams have had multiple versions with maybe one or two players consistent over that time frame.
I get that people hate on Florida because they haven't been successful and they don't fill the building (those two things are linked), but there are plenty of teams that nobody blanches at when they get several top picks in a row and then run with it.
