Not even close.
That's what happens when fans/media focus on final scores and the nuts and bolts that got them there.
The Flames had the lowest xGA/60 of any of the 24 teams in all situations at 2.03. They allowed the 6th least shots/60, and the 2nd lowest high danger chance/60 (Philly 1st).
The MVP was either offensive depth or team defense given those numbers.
Talbot was solid with his overall numbers, but they were largely earned on the backs of who he is ... a solid goaltender that doesn't get beat with the easy ones.
He has a 1.000% low danger save percentage and a 0.970 medium danger save percentage (good for 10th spot).
His high danger save percentage was .706 though, 5th worst of any of the 34 goaltenders that have played in the play ins.
The Flames just didn't give up anything.
