O&G will transition into specialized needs if the demand for actual 'fuel' goes down. Which it will with the rise of electric cars.

However, Alberta & Canada has proven that we can use natural gas as a clean energy source, and if we keep developing technology there, there is no reason we can massively reduce the overall emissions created.
