I know the non play in series games Have something to do with seeding. I don’t know how it works though. Do they get 2 points for a win? Does regular season standings mean anything? I haven’t followed the non play in series at all. I have no idea how their current rankings are?

The top-4 teams are ranked exclusively based on their performance in their 3 round robin games. If there is a tie, the ranking will be determined by their regular season winning percentage, but at this point, there can't be any ties.
Right now, Colorado and Vegas are both 2-0 in the round robin and St Louis and Dallas are 0-2. Colorado and Vegas play each other on Saturday, the winner will be the #1 seed in the West, the loser will be the #2 seed. St Louis and Dallas play each other on Sunday, the winner will be the #3 seed and the loser will be #4.
The bottom half of the rankings are determined by the final regular season winning percentages of the 4 winning Qualifying Round teams. Because the Flames entered the Qualifying Round as the #8 team, their final position could still land anywhere from 5-8.
For every team that entered the QR ranked below the Flames that wins their qualifier, the Flames move up one spot. If all 3 of Minnesota, Arizona, and Chicago were to win, the Flames would be the 5th seed and play the 4th seed in the first round. If all 3 of Nashville, Vancouver, and Edmonton win, the Flames will be the 8th seed and play the 1st seed in the first round.
Here's where every team could end up in the rankings pending this weekend's results:
1. Colorado/Vegas
2. Vegas/Colorado
3. St. Louis/Dallas
4. Dallas/St. Louis
5. Edmonton/Nashville/Vancouver/Calgary
6. Nashville/Vancouver/Calgary/Minnesota
7. Vancouver/Calgary/Minnesota/Arizona
8. Calgary/Minnesota/Arizona/Chicago
