Really don’t like the term ‘overpay’. Overpay compared to what? Do we even know what the market is? No, we don’t. A fan base is only setting themselves up for disappointment discussing a trade in this way.

As far as I see it the reason to trade Gaudreau is because the flames don’t believe he will resign here. If this is the case, and it sounds like it is, it provides them to be specific about addressing organizational needs, I would be more worried about that than looking to bend someone over.
