Sure. But he's a lot closer to Johnny offensively than Johnny is to him defensively...also worth noting that Stone produced 6G 12P in 7 playoff games last year. Gaudreau has 4G 12P in 20 career playoff games. Who's better offensively when it matters?

I take Stone on my team 10 times out of 10 given the choice between the two. We can agree to disagree.

That's kind of my dividing line for 'elite'. Who would I unhesitatingly choose? For me, it seems like a pretty quick choice for the 7 I listed compared to any of the others. Parsing between those 7 is more difficult...Stone is probably 7th, but it's a closer call.

Most of the guys on my 'bubble' are sitting on 2 great seasons...just like Johnny was before this year. My 'elite' 7 have been consistently producing for 3+ years.
That's fair I guess, but this latest season really pulled Johnny down. The three seasons prior he was tied with Wheeler and Pastrnak as the 4th highest point per game winger in hockey with 1.04 points per game. (Stone was 13th with 0.92)

And for 5 on 5 points per 60 Gaudreau was 3rd behind only Kucherov and Marchand. (Stone was 9th)

Someone posted on here (bax IIRC) that during that time frame of 3 seasons the only guy with a higher percentage of his teams points was McDavid.

That's pretty elite, and not a small sample size.

This latest 3/4 of a season bogged his numbers down though.
