Yes offer sheets have traditionally between a pretty sad attempt to get a player, no doubt.

But does the flat cap change that at all?

Speaking of Barzal, the Isles have projected 19 roster players with $8 million cap space remaining. If they match a Barzal offer sheet of $11 million AAV that puts them $3 million over the cap.

Now they still have two key RFA's to sign, Pulock who was their #1 Dman this year and Toews who was their #3 Dman this year. Those two are getting probably roughly $10 million combined. Now the Isles are $13 million over the cap roughly. How in the world do they clear that much salary?
