This is along the same lines as Kaon. Although again, depends on what kind of fishing he likes. Has he ever fished the Crowsnest Pass area? If he's a fly fisher, and of course depending on budget, I'd highly recommend a guide trip out in that area. He could do a walk and wade, or a float trip. The scenery is amazing.
