Guys Hamonic doesn't owe us an explanation. He's exercising his rights and he was nice enough to share the concerns he has. But putting out that statement, which is quite long, was a classy thing to do, considering his important role to this team. If Alzner or Baerstchi just say their out or put out a short tweet - appropriate, they have limited roles.
Just looking at how long his statement was shows that he's really concerned about his family and that he doesn't mean to be a jerk.
