Hockey on the mind? I thought it was by Gary Jules, not Roberts. 
Trout, I agree, Brick is a fantastic tune but very sad. "Evaporated," the last song on that CD, is another sad one, as is "Smoke"...on the other side of the coin are "Kate," "Steven's Last Night in Town," both very jolly tunes. BFF were good for touching all emotions in their songs.
Another really great song that can be the happiest song in the world at one time, and the saddest another, is "Viğrar Vel Til Loftarasa" by Sigur Ros, probably my favourite song in the world for the last two years.
