Thats 9M off the books. Plus letting Janko walk unless he signs for league minimum. Stone is gone. So 11M or so cleared.
I dont see Backlund traded and I wouldn't want that as i think he's really important to solidifying the middle for the team.
Regardless the team will do what they have to to make a run at Hall who would be receptive to coming here.
Aside from signing him, you'd have to address a mangiapane extension and potentially replacing Talbot if he goes elsewhere for a #1 gig.
Doable. I think Valimaki more than replaces what Hamonic brought and in relatively short order.
The hole would be Brodie. And maybe you look at Gustafsson to try and replace his offense.

I don't think you are seeing how tight things are.
If we sign Hall @ 7.5, Mangiapane @ 2.5, we're sitting with about $6m in cap space to sign a top 4 defenseman, a decent backup goalie, a depth defensemen and 2-3 depth forwards.
Signing 3 depth players (2F, 1D), costs a minimum of 2.1 million. That leaves 3.9 million to sign a defenseman and a goaltender. Let's say Gus @ 2.5, that leaves 1.4m to find a goalie that can play at least 30 games. It also leaves the team with a 22 man roster and no room for injury recalls.
I'm sorry but if this team replaces Hamonic and Brodie with Valimaki and Gustafsson, and we have to downgrade our goaltending, we won't be a playoff team no matter how many goals we score.
