I have to agree with Roof-Daddy. As gross as it is, they are in a better position for the next 6 years today than we are. Bennett's failure to turn into a player of any notable value was really the death blow, but the inability to keep our current core together beyond the next 2 years is also a detractor for us. The Canucks have team control on their guys for quite some time, and even former whiffs (Virtanen) seem to be on an upswing.
The Canucks have a better future 1D (Hughes), better future 1C (I love Monahan more than most, but Pettersen is likely to eclipse him entirely next season) and only slightly less wing talent (Tkachuk and Lindholm IMO will remain better than any of Podlozkins, Hoglander, Virtanen, Boeser.) Their net future is equally uncertain. But they have answers to two major roster holes that we really dont have a certain answer for.
