No. Lindholm is a good player, but he isn't a guy that "creates" a lot or drives the line. He's very much like Monahan and a support player to a line driver (Gaudreau).
Sure, that would be awesome. Unfortunately the Flames don't have that depth to do that. If they could pick up another promising center in a trade of Gaudreau, then maybe Monahan could shake out down the lineup.

I think we have the makings of a solid top 9 group with Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Backlund, Mangiapane and Dube.

We're two bodies short. We need a center to push Backlund down the lineup and another quality forward, preferably a RW. The best solution to this conundrum is to sign a player then make a hockey trade to address the other needs. IMO the targets in free agency are Hall or Toffoli (different money expectations) with the expectation you are moving Gaudreau regardless of which UFA you get and filling the holes using that deal.

If we could add a couple guys to push Lucic and Ryan down to the 4th line we would be pretty deep at forward.

Find the bodies that push both out of the lineup. We need a few of our young players to step up and become something. Sadly the future for our prospects isn't looking too bright and we are hoping we can find some help on the scrap heap to get us by.
