I think it's pretty telling that both Cruickshank and Duhatechek had Lucic waiving without actually talking about it.
That suggests to me that they know the scoop (referred to above) where Treliving and Lucic have agreed before the trade happened.
Can't wait for it to actually happen ... so sick of arguing this on twitter with Oiler fans that don't want to lose that delicious angle in the trade - "and Calgary is going to lose a good player in the expansion draft!"
As for the protected list ... these guys need something to write about so why not, but I've never seen the point of projecting lists when there is an off season to go. Technically the list they chose is illegal as there aren't the component signed players exposed. But of course there will be in a year.
Clearly Calgary will do more on the blueline than stand pat and let all the UFAs walk. That changes the list potentially.
