I think a lot of that boils down to the primaries. Trump didn’t have primary competition while Biden of course did. The time between securing that nomination and the convention when it is formally accepted is bringing those that didn’t vote for you under the umbrella. They didn’t do a good job of that last time with Clinton with the primary shenanigans. This time I think they are doing a better job.
