Also Hilary was a shoe in until Comey. Anything could happen of course, but I don’t think Biden is that bad of a candidate. I mean IMO he’s a worse candidate than Clinton because quite honestly she was the best qualified candidate in ages but she had that one problem of being a woman and in particular a Clinton woman. And ya she’s not very nice.
Biden has respect from both sides of the house and that buys him a lot of leeway. Unlike Clinton it is really hard to frame him as a terrible person when no one thinks he is.

Biden reminds me of Bob Dole, just totally no energy in any of his speeches(I simply think he's too old, he'd be 82 before he finishes his term if he wins). He's been completely out of the public light for months (covid or no covid). In a way he's certainly benefiting from Trump's disastrous handling of the pandemic and the race riots, but that's Trump beating Trump, not Biden winning new fans.
In the end voter apathy will most certainly play against the Democrats and we may see a repeat of 2016 if Americans against Trump don't go out and vote with conviction (because you can bet pro-Trump fanatics are voting).
